L’APRÈS-GUERRE
Une vraie gamme, un style original, un format réduit, l’après-guerre offre un triptyque moderne et
cohérent avec le 50 Francs Le Verrier (F.20), le 100 Francs Jeune Paysan (F.28) et le 500 Francs
Chateaubriand (F.34). Cette gamme est un thème de collection à elle seule. Dates rares, fautés,
variantes ; ces trois billets sont recherchés en bel état et nous réservent encore bien des surprises.
Les grosses valeurs faciales n’ont pas cette cohérence mais sont tout aussi remarquables : le 1000
Francs Minerve et Hercule (F.41), encore nettement sous coté en état NEUF, le 5000 Francs Terre et
Mer (F.48) et surtout le 10000 Francs Génie Français, dont plusieurs dates d’émissions sont connues
à moins de dix exemplaires !
Post-War Banque de France
A true range, original style, and smaller size banknotes of the post-war period provided a modern and
coherent triptych with Le Verrier 50-Franc note (F.20), the Jeune Paysan (Young Peasant) 100-Franc
note (F.28) and the Chateaubriand 500-Franc note (F.34). This assortment is a collection theme all by
itself. Rare, faulty and variable dates; these three banknotes in good condition are highly sought after
and still have lots of surprises in store for us.
The high denominations don’t have the same consistency but are just as remarkable with the Minerva
and Hercules 1000-Franc note (F.41), still clearly underpriced in Uncirculated condition, the Land and
Sea 5000-Franc note (F.48) and especially the French Genius 10,000-Franc note, for which less than
ten specimens are known to exist for several issue dates!
