A beautiful siculo-punic tetradrachm (lot 578681), rare Syracuse tetradrachms (lots 575329 and 579204) and an interesting Antiochus VIII and Cleopatra tetradrachm (lot 582718) will be the highlights of this first part of the June 2020 Live Auction. Then comes a full selection of Roman coins with a rare Julius Caesar aureus (lot 566435), a superb Plaetoria denier (lot 580268) and a Eugenius siliqua (lot 577934), which will catch your eye. Byzantium is also represented in this catalog with, among other things, a nice Leo III and Constantine V solidus (lot 580805). Some 50 Celtic coins complement this selection of ancient coins with a rare Parisi ¼ stater (lot 587385) and a superb Aulerci Eburovices hemistater au loup (with a wolf) (lot 590827). 212 coins make up the parts dedicated to Merovingian, Carolingian, royal and feudal coins. Merovingian coins are represented by six triens minted between 600 and 675. Among these coins, and due to its high-quality engraving, special attention should be paid to the coin struck in the name of monétaire Maximinus for Banassac (lot 583765). The part dedicated to Carolingian coins includes a set of 16 deniers and oboles with a very rare Charlemagne denier from Mouzon (lot 575238) and an extremely rare Trojan denier attributed to Charles III (lot 576204). 6
