This coin (lot 536326) is extraordinary in every aspect and stands as an interesting vestige of the Russian numismatic and economic history of the times of Catherine the Great. With a weight of one kilogram, it is equivalent to the copper value of one 18 th century silver Ruble. This coin is an overstruck coin from the mid-19 th century. Some 30 copies of this coin have been identified so far.
