This coin is also the first one of this type to be included in the Collection Idéale. Another exceptional coin (lot 458214) is the Louis XVIII 5-Francs tête nue (hatless) presentation coin from 1815, without a horse head under the signature. It has a prestigious pedigree as it is from the private collection of engraver Auguste-Francois Michaut’s descendants! The auction continues with a selection of particularly specialized and sought-after world coins. The collection of Dr. Frédéric Nordmann accounts for almost half of them. Coins such as the Ernest-Louis de Hesse Darmstadt Carolin or 10 Gulden (lot 457046) or a very nice George III of England Guinea 4th bust (lot 457256) stand out from the other coins from this reference collection.
