The Banque de France banknote section is one of the prominent parts of this Live Auction and is made up of 225 lots, thus illustrating most existing types. It will start with three issuances from the 19th century, including a rare 25 Francs 1870 Paris type banknote (lot 4210046). You will be pleased to find most types in beautiful condition. A magnificent 5 Francs Noir banknote from 1873 (lot 4210050), a splendid 300 Francs banknote (lot 4210126) as well as a marvelous 1000 Francs Bleu et Rose banknote from July 1926 (lot 4210147) are worth mentioning. Some of the banknotes offered for sale at this April 2018 Live Auction were presented only a few times until now, such as a 100 Francs Bleu et Rose banknote from 1890 (lot 4210100) or a 10000 Francs Génie Français from November 30, 1950 (lot 4210204). As for faulty banknotes, which are always highly sought after, you will find a uniface 20 Francs Debussy note (lot 4210290) or a 100 Francs Delacroix with a very displaced watermark (lot 4210298). A few issuances of the French banknotes of War are also offered for sale, including a very rare 50 Francs Trésor Public banknote, which we are being auctioned off for the very first time (lot 4210307) or a nice 10000 Francs Suez banknote (lot 4210310). A large number of specimen and proof banknotes will no doubt attract your attention. Out of the 74 specimen and proof banknotes up for auction, it is worth mentioning a rare 50 Livres issued by the Banque de Syrie et du Grand-Liban in 1925 (lot 4210489) as well as a 5 Roupies note from French India (lot 4210395). Some banknotes will obviously not go unnoticed.
